Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes long afternoons on the beach, rounds of sand volleyball and a host of other activities that all take place outdoors, on or near the water. Whether you’re a single college student or a mom of three, it’s normal to have some anxiety about wearing a bathing suit in front of everyone. Wouldn’t it be nice to have the beach body that you’ve always wanted – one that you can feel comfortable in and proud to show off? Imagine spending the entire day in your bathing suit without having to worry about covering up your body.

With plastic surgery, you can have the body that you’ve always wanted but nature didn’t give you. Fortunately, many of the common procedures that people choose for the summer are low risk and have short recovery times. Exercise and healthy eating should also remain a staple of your lifestyle, but sometimes, this alone isn’t enough to transform the body.

Here are some of the most popular procedures to get you ready for the summer season!

Breast Augmentation

Do you wish that your breasts were larger? Fuller? Shaped differently? If so, breast augmentation may be right for you. Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure, and the healing time generally takes two weeks or less. After the two week mark, you can start with light physical activity. You may return to work even sooner, providing that your job isn’t strenuous.

Botox

Botox is a fast, simple and effective way to refresh your appearance. It can be used to diminish wrinkles from the face and also treat excessive sweating. In addition to Botox, there are other fillers that can be used to restore youthfulness such as Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse.

Tummy Tuck

You don’t have to say no to bikinis. If you’ve been trying your hardest to achieve a flat tummy but haven’t seen the results you expected, a tummy tuck will be the boost you need. Tummy tucks remove excess skin from the tummy area and tighten the underlying muscles, something that exercise and diet alone can’t do.

Tummy tucks do require healing time, however, so leave yourself time before returning to strenuous activity. Most people are back to their normal activities within a month or two.

Liposuction

Just as a strict diet and exercise regimen won’t make loose skin disappear around the tummy, the same is true with other areas on the body that are prone to excess fat, such the thighs, hips, knees, ankles, abdomen and love handles. If you haven’t been able to shed the skin, liposuction will remove the fat cells and ensure that fatty deposits don’t grow in that area in the future. Liposuction also requires healing time; usually patients are back to their normal routine within a month.

Arm Lift

A final part of the body to consider is the arms. If your arms are flabby or loose, an arm lift can make a substantial difference. Arm lifts reduce excess sagging, plus tighten and smooth out skin. Recovery time is fairly short, usually about one week and then 3-4 weeks of mild swelling.
